Casimir Lewy Library

Library quiet area imageThe Casimir Lewy Library is the primary source of printed and electronic material needed for the study and teaching of philosophy and related subjects in Cambridge. The aim of the library is to cover all the areas taught in the Philosophy Tripos as well as most of the areas of research interest to graduate students and teaching staff.

In 2000 after a major building refurbishment, the Library was re-named "The Casimir Lewy Library". Casimir Lewy (1919-1991), University Reader and fellow of Trinity College, was an inspirational teacher, whose passion for clear thinking and logical rigour still echoes through the Faculty. Many of his former students contributed generously to the fund for the refurbishment of the Faculty in his memory.
